At Najobe Park we pride ourselves on producing top quality beef, lamb and pork and delivering from our family farm to your family's kitchen.
Our family traces its farming origins in South Australia back to the mid 1850's when land was first taken up in the mid-north of the state.
The Najobe Park Red Angus cattle stud was established by Wendy and Bob Heath in 1991, with the purchase of land at Wistow in the Adelaide Hills. In keeping with our focus on family, "Najobe" is an acronym of our childrens' names ( Natasha, Joshua and Ben). The stud was developed to breed quality seed stock for the beef industry, and is based on attributes of calving ease, temperament and beef quality. Low stress management strategies were implicit in our animal husbandry practices.
Our cattle and sheep are grass-fed and free range. They are raised without the use of hormones and growth promotants. Our pigs are raised on soft floors with ready access to the outdoors.
In 2010, Ben returned to the farm, and became the 5th generation of our farming family. At that point, the business was expanded to include retailing our beef at the Adelaide Showgrounds Farmers' Market. The success of this was followed by new market openings at Willunga, and several other smaller markets, although these latter ones have now closed, enabling us to concentrate on Adelaide and Willunga. We also sell our pork and lamb at both markets as well as smallgoods made from our own beef and pork.
In September 2015, we opened our own butcher shop in Strathalbyn so that we would have total quality control over our meat processing. Our home deliveries are all done by us using fully accredited refrigerated coolrooms, with our customers' meat being delivered directly from our shop to their home, meaning our meat is delivered as fresh as possible,
"ZaraGrace", our lamb brand, is named after Ben's daughter, Zara, and our pork brand, "Rascal Jack", is named after Ben's son. (Zara and Jack are both well on the way to becoming our 6th generation farmers.) Our "Zoe pepperoni" is named after another of our grand daughters! Our poultry label, Harper's Hens, is named after Ben's youngest daughter and Lilli Goat after his eldest. Grandson, Ethan, puts his name to "Ethan's Fritz". We are very family focussed.
Our sales of sides of beef, lamb and pork have continued to grow, with customers recognizing the benefits of buying premium quality meat, and enjoying the advantage of free delivery to most areas across the metropolitan area, and delivery to several regional centres in South Australia, Victoria and NSW.
Our meat has won numerous national medals for quality, which is why it has been chosen by some of Australia's leading establishments.
Selected restaurants are on our client list (past and present) have included Kingsleys in Sydney and Brisbane, Southern Ocean Lodge, Chianti, the Adelaide Hilton, Fino's, and Serafino's (McLaren Vale), Flying Fish (Port Elliot), The Olfactory Inn , the Semaphore Pantry, Appleseed, the Strath Motel, The Arkaba, The Novotel in Tanunda, Sparkke, Keg and Barrel and the Seacliff Hotel.
Najobe Beef is now used exclusively by the Home Grain Bakeries in Aldinga, McLaren Flat, Middleton and Mt.Compass

The IGA at Plant 4 in Bowden, The Organic Store in McLaren Vale and the Sunraysia Produce Market in Mildura, are also retail outlets for our beef, lamb, pork and chicken
We also have several clients in Hong Kong and Singapore who stock up when in Adelaide and take meat home with them. As Mrs Whoo says "Your meat is the best I have tasted anywhere in the world".
